Promptly

Promptly is a B2B SaaS CMS for LLM prompts - founded and built by Dan Barclay. It exists on a simple thesis: your prompts don't belong in your codebase. They belong with the domain experts who actually know how to write them.

Problem

AI features ship with prompts hard-coded in application repositories. Every tweak to wording, tone or behaviour is gated on an engineer, a code review and a deploy. Meanwhile the people who actually know the domain - support leads, marketers, legal, product - can't touch the prompt that defines how the AI represents the company.

Solution

A CMS purpose-built for prompts. Versioned, environment-scoped, type-safe at runtime via the Promptly SDK. Domain experts write and release prompts in the dashboard. Engineers consume them with a single typed function call. Used in production by 100+ companies.

Stack

  • · TypeScript end-to-end
  • · Typed prompt-fetching SDK with caching
  • · Hosted at promptlycms.com
  • · Zero-config integration for product teams

Author

Dan Barclay is an engineering leader and full-stack product engineer based in London. Promptly - the CMS powering the next wave of AI development - is one of two products he is focused on building. The other is KeepFresh, an iOS app working to end food waste for good.
